All Greek to me Nige! I've gone off the idea of Blackberry phones since seeing a scumbag pull one out of his arse the other week.

Today I... went into town on my annual shopping trip to buy clothes - a hateful experience, as always. (I wear clothes until holes interfere with functionality.)
Even the girl at the checkout in M&S said "thank you sir, see you next year".

Wandered into HMV to be presented with a huge array of cheap DVDs (even the tin boxed set of BoB was just £20). Anyhoo, I grabbed Defiance and Passchendaele in a two for £10 deal - both these passed me by in the cinema.

In passing, is is so long since I have been into town I found several streets which are now dead ends, car parks vanished and a bit of the new inner ring road now complete - having been planned for the last 50 or more years! I was stunned at the number of empty shops and lovely parts of Victorian/Edwardian Derby in total neglect in favour of glass and marble shopping experiences. Terribly sad.

Perhaps if you had frequented said shops more often, they might not have closed down! :P

Crashed a hire van and cracked all the bumper :?

its on my drive now, after work i removed the bumper, araldited it all back together, so no cracks show, weathered the tiny glue lines with ash, and reassembled it

ill drive through loads of dust in the morning to make it look like an old repair just in case

as eddie says in bottom , "they will never notice the differance"

THANK GOD FOR ARALDITE :good: :happydance:

What if the bumper was already slightly fubared.

The hire company is going to be really confused with the return of the van with pristine unmarked bumper

Today I have been mostly revamping, rewriting and updating the story of Joseph Pickering & Sons, manufacturers of Blanco. A story that ends just a year or so ago - a not untypical tale of how Victorian enterprise, initiative and endeavour is destroyed in modern times by those just interested in money.

 Stuck for ideas?? I know what I do. Alternatively, I'd go for something that requires time and effort on your part. OK, a weekend break in Paris sounds romantic but its actually quite a shallow gesture - it just means you have spare cash! Cooking a meal sounds fab but avoid the fish fingers and baked beans thing. On the other hand no need for extravagant cuts of meat or exotic fish - three small courses and concentrate on the presentation. A bit of your favourite music in the background and a few candles and the job's a good 'un. Much better than a restaurant where you have to listen to half a conversation from a loudmouth two tables away and eat food that turns out to be so-so (and get stung for the wine).

Yeah, I know what I would do as well but I have the one problem of my Girlfriends father is coming home this weekend and will be in the house, and seeing as it is his house I can't really kick him out with £10 to go to the flicks  , am going on holiday in two'ish weeks anyway so can't afford to go away for this weekend.

Dinner sounds good, nice sunshine, dinner in the garden, wine, music, her favorite flowers, and no fish fingers!.

Thanks guys.
